Puebla de Don Fadrique is on the very Northeast edge of the Province of Granada. Named after Don Fadrique Álvarez de Toledo, II Duque de Alba in 1525 (on the 9th November to be precise!), it is situated at the base of the mountain 'La Sagra' which, at 2,383 metres is one of the highest in mainland Spain, and which results in some spectacular snows in the town some winters.
The town has some very interesting architecture and is well worth a visit for those interested in that subject.
